Then again there's always the proactive stance of writing angry angry letters full of obscenities, picketing with poorly constructed signs (or if you're ambitious enough with rage...use glitter and macaroni), flipping over cars and setting them on fire, you know...all the peaceful ways of protesting being so horribly offended.

X-FORCE SEX AND VIOLENCE!

Always a sucker for a good Wolverine story (which painfully is kind of hard to come by), X-FORCE SEX AND VIOLENCE #1 seems to be off to a good start. Domino not being much of a damsel in distress reluctantly accepts the help of Wolverine when an old job with the Assassin's Guild comes back to haunt her. Featuring fully painted artwork by Gabriele Dell'Otto this reminded me of the still classic Meltdown series from Epic years ago. Vicious and bloody right from the get go and playing off the sexual tension between Domino and Wolverine, I recommend this 3 issue limited series. Let's hope the two issues that follow are just as good.

I expected this to just be a quirky movie about a guy with some issues who takes it upon himself to battle against the evil "Captain Industry". I didn't think it looked great, just an indy movie where I'd get a couple cheap laughs as Woody Harrelson cheesed up

a goofy character who thinks he's a super hero.

And to my amazement, this wasn't that at all.

Much darker in tone than I expected, this movie takes itself pretty seriously. The motivations of Defendor and the actual feel of the entire movie has a lot more weight to it than what any of the trailers I had seen let on. Damaged characters well acted by an excellent cast, a few nods to the super hero genre, and a really solid story.

Give it a shot.
